Meet Mathias Lenssen, the heart and soul behind Doctor Car Check. His love for cars started early — really early. As a kid growing up in Germany in the 1970s, Mathias would spend hours sitting in his parents' parked cars, pretending to drive. He'd imagine shifting gears, practicing with the clutch and stick shift. Back then, manual transmissions were the norm, so this "practice" felt pretty serious to him.

After years of pestering his mom, she finally gave in and let 9-year-old Mathias get behind the wheel of her BMW 3.0si, with her in the pasenger seat, of course. All that pretend driving must have paid off because he drove it like a pro — not a single stall! He still calls that moment his first "best day ever."

From then on, weekend drives with his dad became a tradition, fueling his lifelong love of being behind the wheel. Even now, driving is one of his favorite things to do.

With over 40 years of hands-on experience tinkering with cars and handling most of his own repairs, Mathias decided to turn his passion into a business. That's how Doctor Car Check was born — to help everyday people make smart decisions when buying a used car.
